[Case Study] Research on LED Heat Dissipation through Industry-Academia Collaboration
It is possible to evaluate the lifespan of LEDs and optimize considering both their lifespan and the cost of the lighting equipment!
We would like to introduce a case where Kitakyushu City University utilized "FloTHERM," "FloTHERM XT," and "modeFRONTIER" for research on LED heat dissipation through industry-academia collaboration. It is often said that the lifespan of an LED can double if the temperature is reduced by 10°C, indicating a close relationship between heat dissipation performance and the lifespan of LED lighting. Therefore, we evaluated the lifespan of LEDs considering the operational conditions of the floodlights and conducted optimization that took both lifespan and the cost of the lighting equipment into account.
